Did you know?.........

                                                                         Back Pain

  • The region of the back is very complex.  As the spine does not stand alone, pain in the back may result from problems with the neck, shoulders, hips and pelvis.

  •        The back is made up of bone, nerves, muscles, ligaments and tendons.  Any of these can become damaged and/or inflamed which in turn can reduce circulation (and sometimes mobility) to an area.

  •       Reflexology may help with this very common ailment by bringing the body systems back to a normal level, helping the body to relax and reduce its muscular tension, allowing it to rid itself of any build up of toxins and therefore increasing nourishing blood flow to the area.

                                                                  Stress and Anxiety

  •        Anxiety and stress are controlled by the system of hormones, called the Endocrine system.  The hormone responsible for the symptoms of palpitations, racing heart, difficulty sleeping, sweating, irritability and panic attacks (to name but a few) is called Adrenaline

  •         Adrenaline  is also known as the 'fight or flight' hormone which lets us run away from any dangerous situation.  Unfortunately, because of the stressful lives that many people now lead, this hormone continues to be produced in susceptible people long after the initial stimulation and can produce the debilatating and uncomfortable symptoms mentioned above.

  •        Reflexology  may bring the systems of the body back to their normal levels and thereby may re-balance the levels of adrenaline that the body is producing.  This may result in a reduction of unpleasant symptoms.

  •         Indian Head Massage may also be useful in reducing levels of stress.... the effects of an Indian Head Massage on stress may be felt immediately due to the level of relaxation induced.
